Please Support the Roodepoort SPCA
Roodepoort SPCA has had to expand the building that houses our Animal Hospital in order to accommodate the influx of animals that are constantly being brought to us for medical assistance. Dogs are referred to us not only by SPCA’s that do not have animal hospitals but also from private Vets whose clients are no longer able to afford private veterinary care.
Increasingly, we have clients who have either lost their jobs or are compelled to down scale their homes for economic reasons. Their only hope for any treatment of their pets is at the Roodepoort SPCA Animal Hospital .
We are currently building more wards, bigger isolation blocks and are doubling the size of our Hospital to accommodate these animals. We do not have sufficient money to complete this project. In its entirety we need R1.5million. Without the help of the Roodepoort SPCA Animal Hospital , these animals will have no hope for the future. We not only sterilize, we inoculate, perform Orthopaedic surgery, autopsies, amputations and deal with emergencies, animal poisonings (which is very rife at present). If we are not able to assist the public or the animals, what will happen to them? It is a thought we just cannot contemplate.
Roodepoort SPCA continues to work in informal settlements assisting with sterilizations and treatment of animals in these areas. One of our committee members has personally contributed to the costs of the Hospital upgrade but can no longer continue to do so. We have also received some external donations towards this building project but have been reluctant to “BEG” for funds. However we have no other alternative. We are appealing to the public for financial assistance, no matter how small. All donations will go towards helping pets and their owners who are less fortunate.
